Archway N19 Area Overview

Archway is situated in North London in London Borough of Islington; between popular areas of Holloway and Highgate, whilst the names derives from the arch built between Highgate and Hornsey in 1896.

Probably the best thing about Archway is the transport links that it has to get around the capital. With numerous bus services serving North London and Central London, the Northern Line to get you around the West End and the City.

Much of the housing in the area is Victorian with some quite imposing houses around Highgate Hill.

The Whittington Hospital at Highgate Hill, named after the legendary Richard Whittington is a major site of interest dating back to the 1800s. The Archway Tavern is another popular spot noted for its music events. The Archway Tower is the main landmark in the area featuring a modern architectural. Archway has its fair share of lavish properties and has some of finest town houses in the northern section of the city, with several 3 and 4 storey town homes located on many of the streets such as in St John’s Grove.
